Torture Garden Halloween

venue: MASS, LONDON UK

what we think: It may not be for everyone but I really loved it !!

Without a shadow of a doubt the best Halloween party in town has got to be London’s leading fetish party – Torture Garden. On this Old Hallow's Night, the costumes were alive with character, some more dead than others. The vibe is definitely one to be commented on. For a party where debauchery and torture is highly on the agenda, everyone is very respectful and polite. This is an awesome change to any parties which tend to have the loud and obnoxious 'chavs' that tend to spoilt it for all of us. The night does start out a bit quiet, but as people pour in the debauchery intensifies. The music is anything from electro & breaks to hardcore and drum & bass. And in a party where anything goes – it wouldn’t make sense to have much restriction on the music, although one could comment on the quality of it at times with the mood of the music in the later hours in the dance room not complimenting the night very much.

Music from Allen TG was well paced and a big hands together for a killer set from Janette Slack. Room two hosts a more eclectic rock oriented sound with everything from 50’s rockabilly to 90’s industrial. The one spoil of the night was a box boasting a computer game which i found totally out of place with. But i supposed its gore content was meant to compliment the TG Halloween theme. A bit lost perhaps.

Music aside it’s the dungeon where most of the excitement is found with numerous torture devices that when occupied put on a real treat. The shadows of bodies lurking round corners with loud moans from whipped bodies add a defining excitement to what is usually a tame Babalou. Definitely not a night for everyone but for those who are and are curious this is great fun and we highly recommend it. I myself am in total anticipation of the next one.
